Apple CEO Tim Cook announced during an interview on Bloomberg TV that the company's streaming service now has more than 50 million users. The 50 million total marks the latest in a steady increase for the company, which had 36 million subscribers in February, 38 million in March and 40 million in April. The free trials, of which there were 8 million, were not included in the total of 40 million users. Apple still lags behind Spotify, which announced 75 million users after going public in April. As streaming became more popular, the company launched its Apple Music streaming service in 2015.
