ODM supporters voted in huge numbers in the just concluded murky primaries compared to Wiper. For instance, Wiper Nyali candidate John Mcharo was elected with only 909 votes, while his ODM counterpart Said Salim got 3,671 votes. Wiper’s senator candidate Lawrence Kisilu won with 4,078 votes. There were concerns Wiper party cards were being issued in large numbers to anybody, including non-members, to influence the outcome of the polls. He says with the dismal nominations results, coupled with defections, Wiper might trail ODM unless they pull a major surprise.
