A weather system that moved in to Newfoundland overnight is causing school and travel disruptions this morning. Many schools were cancelled for the morning throughout the island, but St. John's Metro and Labrador schools remained open. Marine Atlantic cancelled all of its crossings across the Cabot Strait on Tuesday due to weather conditionsSnow, ice and rainAreas in central and western Newfoundland are set to get snow ranging 10 to 30 cm on Tuesday, depending on the region. The snow is expected to last several hours before changing over to ice pellets in freezing rain in some regions later in the afternoon and evening.
