A swath of communities north of The Pas and Lake Winnipeg are under snowfall and winter storm warnings Friday. The parts of Manitoba in red are at risk of winter storm or snowfall warnings on Friday. Meanwhile just to the north, Thompson, Lynn Lake, Leaf Rapids, Pukatawagan and surrounding communities could receive heavy amounts of snow, according to Environment Canada. Thompson and Lynn Lake are expected to be hit with 10 to 15 cm of snow starting in the afternoon. Road conditions will be poor in many regions and Environment Canada suggests postponing any non-essential trips until conditions improve.
