Winter Storm Stella grounds SAA flights to AmericaBy MTHULIS SIBANDAJOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – SOUTH African Airways (SAA) has cancelled its flights to North America as a result of the Winter Storm Stella. Affected flights are those to and from Washington, Dulles International Airport (Washington DC) operated via Accra, Kotoka International Airport, Ghana and to and from New York, John F. Kennedy International Airport. “The airline will closely monitor the situation and reinstate its flight schedule once it is safe to operate,” said Tlali. SAA has cancelled a number of flights already this year due to adverse weather and unforeseen circumstances. Flights to New York and Mauritius have previously been deferred due to bad weather while operations to Abuja, Nigeria have been cancelled due to upgrades at the airport in the West African country.
