Winter Olympics: Great Britain on verge of curling semi-finals after commanding victories

Great Britain took a big step towards booking places in the semi-finals of the curling after impressive wins by both the men’s and women’s team in Pyeongchang against Norway and Japan respectively. The GB teams have identical records at the Games, with five wins from eight games after a third-straight win leaving them both third in the standings. Kyle Smith’s side face the United States in the final round of matches tomorrow following the dominant 10-3 win over the Norwegians as he, brother Cammy, Thomas Muirhead and Kyle Waddell begin to hit top form. “It’s just pleasing we’ve managed to put a good string of wins together now and we’re in a position where we’re in control of our own destiny,” Kyle Smith said.
