Wintec executive director of people and culture Katrina Van de Ven has been named New Zealand HR manager of the year. The head of HR at a polytech rocked by scandal says the organisation's culture is healthy. Van de Ven, 50, joined Wintec six years ago and became the organisation's executive director of people and culture in 2016. Staff surveys indicate staff enjoy working at Wintec and the organisation's workplace culture is healthy, she said. Wintec staff in leadership positions have been put through programmes helping them to identify their own emotional intelligence as well as lead teams through change.
