Winnipeg man files lawsuit claiming infection from tooth extraction left him with brain damage

A Winnipeg man has filed a lawsuit against an oral surgeon after an infection from a wisdom tooth extraction spread to his brain and left him with brain damage. The lawsuit also said the oral surgeon failed to prescribe antibiotics both before and after the procedure, failed to monitor him post-operatively and failed to react to emergent circumstances. Mason Woods, 23, suffered an infection that spread to his brain after a wisdom tooth removal surgery. The statement of claim filed on behalf of Mason Woods says the oral surgeon who performed the dental procedure was negligent. Woods had multiple neuro-surgeries to relieve pressure on his brain and surgery to remove another tooth that had also become infected.
