Winnipeg Harvest food shortage prompts call for more donations

Food and monetary donations can be dropped off at the Winnipeg Harvest building located at 1085 Winnipeg Ave. Winnipeg Harvest is banking on the generosity of Manitobans to help it through its current food shortage. "Please help us stock our shelves for these families," a spokesperson with Winnipeg Harvest said. Rice and canned soup, fruit, vegetables, beans, peas and lentils are among the items food bank staff say they urgently need. The food bank says a recent influx of refugee families into Manitoba has put a strain on its ability to feed people in need.
