Allan Bunting could not have imagined a better start as head coach of the NZ Women's sevens team. The Rotorua local master-minded his team to a stunning 17-5 dismantling of Olympic and World Series champions Australia in the final at the Dubai Sevens on Saturday. It was the Kiwis' first win over Australia in more than 12 months and helped ease some of the pain from the Olympic final loss. Bunting has been assistant to Sean Horan since 2012 and at his appointment last month he outlined what he wanted to build in the team. ■The New Zealand men's sevens team finished seventh in Dubai after losing 20-12 to Australia in their 5th-8th playoff match yesterday.
