Liverpool has started the season with four consecutive wins in league play for the first time since 1990. The ratio of Liverpool goals to shots on target isn’t much different – 0.34 last season; 0.37 this season. By conceding fewer goals, Liverpool might be able to make gains by turning draws into wins. The Premier League record is held by Alex Manninger (Arsenal) with six straight shutouts while Anders Lindegaard (Manchester United) recorded 5. Liverpool started the 1990/91 season with eight consecutive wins in the old First Division before drawing away to Norwich.
