Winni Middle School students pledge to remain drug free


His death became the rallying cry for millions of Americans leading to the National Family Partnership sponsoring the first National Red Ribbon Celebration in 1988. Today, nearly 30 years later, the Red Ribbon Campaign continues to educate and bring awareness of drug prevention and healthy decision making to communities and youth throughout our country. This year, the theme was "Your future is key, so stay drug free." For a full week, students were encouraged to show school spirit and an anti-drug commitment through participation in daily themes, trivia, wearing red, forming a large double looped red ribbon, signing the pledge, and sharing a healthy activity they enjoy doing instead of drugs. Students formed a gym-sized anti-drug ribbon for Red Ribbon Week.
