For years now, the Bodega Numanthia Termes has had a regular place in my personal wine rotation. With a bit of air, a deeply beefy note comes through, with an aromatic savoriness approaching bouillon in the best possible sense. It’s a transporting, expressive and generous expression of the less-than-12-acre plot of 120-year-old vines that this stunning bottling is crafted from. Of course, sometimes you just want a bottle that doesn’t cost all that much but that still over-delivers for the money. This is monumental, and while it’s excellent right now, it will benefit from time in the bottle.
