Windsor and London are two of six cities across the country planning to sign a new charter condemning anti-Muslim hate crimes. The move is prompted by the National Council of Canadian Muslims, a civil liberties and advocacy organization that says "hate incidents and stereotyping of Canadian Muslims is growing in frequency and intensity." Two southwestern Ontario communities are joining a Canadian alliance to combat the rising incidents of Islamophobia. Other cities signing the charter on Monday include Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal. Leaders from those six cities will hold simultaneous news conferences on Monday, following the Canada Day weekend.
