Winchester, South Canterbury home 'well ablaze'STUFF Fire crews were called to a home ablaze in Winchester on Friday night. Fire crews attended a house fully ablaze in the rural South Canterbury town of Winchester on Friday night. A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said four fire engines and three water tankers from Temuka, Geraldine and Plesant Point attended the scene opposite Winchester Rural School just after 6pm. He said the fire was well ablaze when crews arrived, but had since been extinguished. No-one was reported injured and the fire was not being treated as suspicious.
