Now in its 21st year, the Duck Brand Stuck at Prom scholarship competition rewards high school students with a $10,000 college scholarship for making a prom costume and accessories out of duct tape. Part of the point of the scholarship program is to promote that Duck Brand duct tape comes in many colors, not just gray. Most costumes use dozens of rolls of duct tape, depending on the number of colors used in the design. She spent 395 hours creating her costume using 41 rolls of duct tape. Aside from creating prom costumes, duct tape is often found on college packing lists, since it is useful for quick fix repairs and sealing boxes.
