AdvertisementA new retractable roof has been unveiled over Wimbledon's No 1 court ahead of this summer's competition. The new roof cost £70million and is identical to the one that has covered Centre Court since 2009. A test event will be held on May 19 with the roof to be used officially for the first time. This will not be the end of improvements at the All England Club. At its spring press conference, the All England Club also announced an 11.8 per cent increase in prize money for 2019.
