Venus Williams and Serena Williams are paying homage to their late sister, Yetunde Price, who was killed in a 2003 drive-by shooting, with the opening of The Yetunde Price Resource Center. The center, which will serve their hometown of Compton, California, will provide customized assistance and relief to families of violence. “The resource center will serve as vital support to existing nonprofits and organizations that provide critical services to our community,” Compton Mayor Aja Brown told The Root. “We are so excited to return to Compton for Mayor Aja Brown’s Healthy Compton Community Festival,” the said. “Compton will always be our home and we can’t wait to spend the day with the community at this inspiring event.”For more info on the 2016 Healthy Compton Community Festival click here.
