William and Kate commemorate their Canada visit with an inexplicably eerie home video

To thank Canada for the “happy memories” of their visit, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released a short video notable for its unusual spookiness. “Thank you, Canada,” declares the video at the outset, before showing about 90 seconds of slow-motion highlights from a Thursday children’s party held for the royals. The video depicts a children’s party held on Thursday at Government House, the Victoria home of B.C.’s lieutenant governor. Based on the official Canada logo at video’s end, the Kensington Palace video appears to have been produced by the Department of Canadian Heritage, the federal agency that quarterbacks all royal tours.
