Mr Lacey also drew parallels between "anti-royal" Diana, Princess of Wales, who was tragically killed in a car crash in 1997, with Harry's wife Meghan Markle. The author claims Harry find an escape in Meghan, having "realised there was something rotten at the heart of royalness". Harry and Meghan announced in January their intention to step down as working royals, before moving to America in March with the aim of becoming financially independent.
