Taking that winning formula forward, Badrinath Ki Dulhania (Badrinath’s Bride), releasing on March 10, reunites Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan as lovers for the third time, following Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Student of the Year (2012). Even their debut film Student of the Year scored big at the box office. Directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar, romantic comedy Badrinath Ki Dulhania seems to have moved from Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’s urban setting of Delhi to the rural hinterlands. Last month has been a disappointment, with most of the films — The Ghazi Attack, Running Shaadi, Iraada — failing at the box office. After a dismal month, industry observers are confidently plugging Badrinath Ki Dulhania as the kind of content that could help revive box office business.
