I do agree that it is better for Elon Musk to meet and engage with President Trump to try and impact the President’s agenda than to not be involved. However Musk is also on Trump’s Business Advisory Council, which Uber’s CEO Travis Kalanick was going to be part of. However after it was announced that Kalanick would be meeting with Trump thousands of users deleted their Uber app. If Musk becomes too visible (and he may not be able to control that if he wanted to since Trump could leverage Musk’s appeal to Trump’s advantage and Musk’s disadvantage) it may impact Tesla’s sales. Apple, eBay, Facebook, Google, Intel, Levi Strauss, Microsoft, Salesforce.com and Twitter were some of the companies that are taking the position that the Executive Order is illegal.
