OTTAWA — The Crown has stayed its criminal case against Vice-Admiral Mark Norman, but the story is far from over. What was the new evidence that got Norman’s case stayed? Curiously, Matchett was only charged after being named in court documents filed by Norman’s lawyers — documents that relied on disclosure from the RCMP, meaning the RCMP has long known about Matchett’s alleged leaks. But there is at least one major difference between Norman’s case and Matchett’s: physical cabinet documents.
