When I was at Hyundai Motor in Seoul, from 2010 to 2013, the automaker had only one hybrid – the Sonata hybrid. Electric car advocates often fail to mention that electricity for their pollution-free cars comes from coal-burning and nuclear power plants. Now, seven years after the launch of its first hybrid, Hyundai has an all-new new hybrid called Ioniq that may finally be a match for the mighty Prius, say car experts. The Ioniq hybrid is actually one of a family of three Ioniqs. Ioniq is the world’s first car to come with three power configurations: hybrid, plug-in hybrid and pure electric.
