From setting up his first sheep stud aged 10, to competing in and winning trans-Tasman stock judging competitions in his teens, Gibson has always been an early achiever. Will Gibson already has more than a decade of experience in stock breeding and judging to draw on and he's still a 22-year-old. While it was important that coloured wool was kept separate from the mainstream white merino fleeces, it was worth the extra work. Wool from his stud of natural coloured, 18.5 micron wool merinos was sought after and sold domestically.
