Timaru's Will Gibson was named best NZ water skier at the four-day Aussie Kiwi 2020 challenge on Lake Crichton near Dunsandel recently. Gibson, competing in the under-21 men's grade, won gold for the longest jump in the under-21 men's grade with a 53 metre effort on his way to finishing second overall in the grade that also included trick and slalom events. His brothers, Taine and Cody, also competed under-21 grade with Taine picking up a silver in the slalom. Will's next event is in Melbourne for the 60th World Invitational Moomba Masters on the Yarra River on March 4-9 where he will compete in the jump.
