St Joseph's School New Plymouth principal Mike Dowd had his trousers rolled up helping parents get their kids to school on Wednesday. Wednesday’s wet weather may be hanging around in Taranaki, but the rain is due to clear on Friday. According to MetService’s website, the heavy rain will ease on Thursday afternoon and make way for a relatively dry Friday. The Taranaki Regional Council website showed it had been raining on Mt Taranaki since 5pm on Tuesday, with its peak of 22mm between 6am and 7am on Wednesday. It may have been slowing but MetService still had a heavy rain watch issued for the mountain until 4pm on Thursday, warning there could be periods of heavy rainfall.
