Professor Phil Bishop, Wild Dunedin’s Wild Hero for 2021, had a lifelong passion for amphibians, especially frogs and toads. Wild Dunedin mourns the recent loss of Prof Bishop, and we are awarding our Wild Hero Award to Phil posthumously.Phil said “People often ask me ‘Why frogs?’ and this has been an extremely difficult question for me to answer. I have been passionate about amphibians for as long as I can remember, I don’t know why, I just simply love amphibians, especially toads!
