On Tuesday, WikiLeaks dropped what appeared to be a real bomb: a dump they referred to as Vault 7 that reportedly blew the lid off the extensive hacking capabilities of the CIA. They can hack Android devices. We already knew that the CIA hacked things, and most of what was "revealed" in Vault 7 was already common knowledge to folks in the cybersecurity business. Many of the Android attacks that were listed, for instance, were designed for devices running Android 4.4 Kit Kat. So, yes, Vault 7 proved the CIA can hack your Android device or iPhone, but so long as you were still running a very old operating system like some people in the White House.
