A WIGTON man who was assaulted during a night out later returned to the pub where it happened armed with a knife, intent on revenge, a court heard. Pam Ward, prosecuting, said the frightening incident happened on December 19 after the defendant was assaulted during a night out. CCTV cameras showed the defendant approaching the pub, clutching a "kitchen knife" and making "swinging motions". On the street outside the pub, the woman who approached him earlier, wearing a light-coloured coat, took the knife from Routledge and put it in a nearby bin. "He was clearly intent on revenge and went back to the pub with the knife," added Mrs Ward.
