KUALA LUMPUR: The wife of missing activist Amri Che Mat claims that a police officer told her that Special Branch officers from Bukit Aman abducted her husband without the knowledge of Perlis police. "He told me that he did not want to be complicit in the abduction of my husband," she told a Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) inquiry on the abduction on Wednesday (May 30). She said that Shamzaini, who is part of the Perlis Special Branch met her on May 12 at her home. Nurhayati alleged that Shamzaini told her that her husband was monitored by the Perlis police who fed this information back to Bukit Aman. Shamzaini also allegedly told Nurhayati that Perlis police officers were coached on what to say at the Suhakam inquiry.
