Susan Elizabeth Mouat was sentenced to 11 months' home detention by Justice Peter Churchman in October after she admitted the manslaughter of Bruce Mouat in 2011. SUPPLIED Bruce Mouat, mountaineer and past leader of the Taranaki Alpine and Cliff Rescue team, died in July 2011. His wife Susan Elizabeth Mouat has had her appeal against a sentence of home detention for his manslaughter dismissed. "But, similarly, a sentence of 11 months' home detention is at the very low end of the scale of manslaughter sentences.
