JOHOR BARU: An Indonesian widow is appealing to the Government to grant her permanent resident (PR) status. Her Malaysian husband passed away due to cancer last year. She said she received a letter from the Immigration Department dated July 20, telling her that her application for PR status was denied as her husband had passed away. “The letter stated that I have lost eligibility for PR status as my husband is no longer around but I made my application before he passed away,” she said at a press conference here. “The letter also suggested that I apply for PR status once my daughter turns 21 but there is a long way to go until then,” she added.
