Wicked Fit Run raises $6,000

WOLFEBORO — Families in Transition’s Wicked FIT Run came to Wolfeboro for the first time Saturday, Sept. 30. The race in Wolfeboro raised $6,000 to support FIT’s new short-term emergency housing for homeless families, the Hope House, which will have its groundbreaking today, Oct. 4, in Wolfeboro. The Hope House will house seven families at a time, totaling an anticipated 43 parents and 84 children each year. FIT also owns and operates two thrift stores in Manchester and Concord, which serve as economic engines to help pay for services that FIT provides. Families in Transition, a homeless services provider, hosted its first annual Wicked FIT Run in Wolfeboro on Sept. 30.
