Mia Sutherland is a 17-year-old student from Cashmere High School in Christchurch and an organiser of School Strike 4 Climate NZ. We are already seeing the direct consequences of climate change on real people as natural disasters are exacerbated by heat rise and people are made to flee their homes due to the damage done by these catastrophes. It's no secret that climate change is already showing its claws to the human race. Within little geographically isolated New Zealand, making an impact on climate change on an international level seems like an impossible task.
