One reason some firms have delayed back-to-office dates is to take into account new considerations as vaccine mandates become more common, advisers say. The longer workers stay out of the office, the harder it may be to cajole their return. Goldman said last month that it would require anyone who entered its US offices, including clients, to be fully vaccinated. But the boutique bank Jefferies, which pushed back its return date from September to October, said it was “embracing” a hybrid return to work.
