First, I was kind of surprised that there was some adverse reaction to the Blue Jays celebrating clinching a playoff spot yesterday after a crazy intense ride through September and the first weekend of October. Article Continued BelowIt’s as if some fans took it personally that the Jays stretched out the playoff race to Game 162, as if they were somehow done a disservice by a team that scuffled before somehow prevailing. It’s as if some fans wanted to diminish the accomplishment, as if they were somehow embarrassed to be associated with a team that took it to the last possible moment to make it to the playoffs. It was dramatic, it was a significant accomplishment and if they wanted to party, how in the world could anyone be upset about that?
