Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state on Friday explained why his administration is embarking on the construction of new Governor’s lodge for the state, saying the last lodge built by his predecessor had issues of structural defect. Akeredolu who disclosed this during the foundation laying of a new Governor’s Lodge in Alagbaka, Akure, said the old Governor’s Lodge which was originally a modest three-room duplex of timber flooring, built for the Colonial District Officers went through a lot of modifications, restructuring and renovations since the creation of Ondo State in 1976. He said “When we came in February 2017, we met the old Governor’s Lodge building, fabrics and furniture in acute dilapidation and utter state of abandonment.
