Your lips are saying, ‘Out-of-province inspection’, but I’m hearing, ‘Highway Robbery’. In 2013, for instance, five Vancouver mechanics each delivered different diagnoses for a 2006 Jeep Wrangler brought in for an out-of-province inspection. Studies also show that vehicle inspections don’t actually increase road safety. The state of New Jersey used to require drivers to undergo regular vehicle inspections until the program was phased out in 2010. But the record on out-of-province inspections is patchy at best.
