There are several reasons why the dramatic victory by the Green Bay Packers over the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL Playoffs is good for the NFL. Similarly, it is probably not a coincidence that the small population center of Green Bay has a semblance of public ownership, albeit through symbolic shares without controlling interests. Packers’ fans have Aaron Rodgers. As for NFL economics, it is good that small market franchises enjoy on-field success.
