The Blue Jays should never make a habit of drafting players just because they are Canadian. Toronto made outfielder Dasan Brown the top Canadian selected during this year’s draft when they took him in the third round, 88th overall. He initially gained notoriety with the Ontario Blue Jays and has been scouted ever since. Consistent contact has been an issue for Brown, but the Blue Jays expect that will change over time. Brown has been to the Rogers Centre plenty of times before and will now hope the next time he’s there it will be in a Blue Jays uniform.
