The Jane/Finch Centre, Black Creek Community Health Centre and the Jane Finch Community Legal Clinic are just a few of the organizations started by residents living in the community, not by government. Residents fought to keep schools open in the community and they continue to fight for support in the school system. When Metrolinx was about to take away the land for a Community Hub and Centre for the Arts, residents mobilized to ensure its place in this community. Now residents have to fight to save their lives? Surely the government can find ways to ensure vaccines for all Jane-Finch essential workers and their families — workers who support all others across Toronto.
