There is a shift in using of public interviews to fill up vacant positions in the public sector in Kenya. I believe there are some solid reasons we should rethink the use of public interviews. Some of the main reasons I am against using public interviews as a way to select a suitable candidate are;Unfair Advantage: The interviews unlike those held behind closed doors provide an unfair advantage to the candidates that follow. The following are some of the ways I would suggest the handling future public interviews. The best candidates for the job may have been selected but there needs to be a serious rethink on the structure of the public interviews.
