ANALYSIS: Nobody should mourn the end of Bonus Bonds. In the 12 months to the end of March 2019, Bonus Bonds paid out $39.6 ​million in prizes on the $3.3 billion of $1 Bonus Bonds on issue. At the end of March last year, there were just over 3.3b​ Bonus Bonds on issue. Bonus Bonds used to be heavily advertised, but in recent years advertising spend had been cut back. The giant Bonus Bonds fund had around $56m​ of reserves at the end of March last year.
