Judiciary: Why judges were movedThe Judiciary explained the transfer of 14 Court of Appeal judges was normal and routine.This is in line with the requirement for Court of Appeal judges to serve in a station for two years. Justice Maraga on Monday evening announced the transfer of judges of the court of appeal in Nairobi, Malindi, Kisumu and Nyeri. Judges Wanjiru Karanja and Martha Koome were also moved to Nairobi from Malindi. Also moved were Judges A. Makhandia, Patrick Kiage and Otieno-Odek who have been transferred to Kisumu from Nairobi, while S. Gatembu Kairu and A.K. Last week the Chief Justice transferred five High Court judges who included Chacha Mwita, Weldon Korir, Wilfrida Okwany, James Aaron Makau and Reuben Nyakundi.
