GhanaWeb's team at Parliament, where the review was to be presented, reported that the Minority Caucus of the House has decided to boycott the event and is currently engaged in negotiations. The team has learned that the Minority Caucus is demanding that the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government pay common fund arrears owed in their districts. Members of Parliament from the National Democratic Congress have threatened to delay the presentation of the review until the payment of the common fund is approved. The mid-year budget review is required by Section 28 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921), which mandates the Minister to provide a mid-year fiscal policy review of the Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the Government.
