Ever since I got my first paycheque in my early 20s, I’ve been taking myself on solo dates. But despite that, I enjoy and am at peace with doing things solo. In fact, I’ve made many friends and more than friends by going out alone, many of whom are now central figures in my life. We’ve been told, and are reminded often thanks to of-the-moment Instagram stories, that going out and doing things are social activities. And I’m happy I did, because doing so reminded me that, at the end of the day, I’m all I have.
