Clearly, it’s important for the two candidates to spell out their views on national security issues. The risk that we could be heading for another financial crisis – one that might make the events of 2008 look like a walk in the park. The Federal Reserve now has an astonishing $4.5tn on its balance sheet, compared to only about $1tn at the onset of the financial crisis. And when it comes to financial markets, we aren’t living in the best of all possible worlds. I’m hoping financial security will make it into Monday’s debate.
