The rejection of majority of sitting Members of Parliament and Members of County Assemblies by voters in the recent party primaries, is an indictment on the 11th Parliament. That voters in Baringo rejected all MCAs while Nyeri County rejected all but Kieni MP Kanini Kega shows Kenyans have matured politically. Parliament has been a let down in terms of attendance, debates and handling of petitions among others. Members of Parliament also shot down the Senate’s proposal for Sh1 billion, to facilitate Senators over sight role of counties. The County Assemblies are not any better.
