The sacking of John Kingston from Harlequins – or rather the departure “by mutual agreement” as it was worded yesterday – brings to four the number of Premiership clubs who have had major changes in their senior management staff this season. Then, last month, Nick Kennedy left London Irish. Kennedy wasn’t sacked, but his position as director of rugby was so compromised by the hiring of two senior coaches (a decision that was not his) that he felt it had become impossible to stay.
